Exodus 7:1-2: Then the LORD said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country.
Remember when Moses told God that he could not fulfil his assignment because of his speech impediment? while God was preparing Moses, he also sent Aaron along to help Moses. This is because whatever assignment God has called you to do, you cannot do it alone and you must be ready to receive help from others. We can easily come to this understanding when we remember that God’s greatest commandment is love, so while working in your purpose, God is also interested in building you up to love others. So we are all called to service and as you are serving someone, someone else is called to serve with you and serve you. This is why our friendships, and relationships are important to God. What are the people around you feeding you? Is there someone keeping you accountable?. Because, even the government has checks and balances to control the abuse of power. So also, when we are called into purpose, God will intentionally place people in our lives that will work with us.
Before I started this blog, in my days of struggling and wrestling, God placed in my heart to call some of my friends to tell them about starting this blog.
The first person I spoke with I truly do not know when I voiced it out during our conversation and she was supportive. I ended up reading a couple passages to her and she told me how the words ministered to her. So that boosted my faith.
The second person, we spoke about how I wasn’t sure what method to roll this out. We spoke at length and she advised me to go back to God for clear instructions. Which I did.
The last person is someone that I have always admired her obedience to God. She is also someone that is working in her purpose and I always feel inspired whenever I speak with her. So I called her to ask how she stepped out in faith. Now, a some of my fears were that I didn't feel qualified: I always say what do I know? I’m still struggling with some of the things I write, who am I to minister to others? And also I wasn’t comfortable with the idea of putting myself out there. So, speaking with my friend encouraged me and I decided to start by faith. She was the one that also held me accountable, we set a date for my first release and she kept checking in to make sure I was on track.
Now, the flip side of this is that, we must not mistake this for validation. I was not looking for validation. I knew what God was telling me, I already had a book filled with writings but I was crippled by my fear and God needed vehicles to walk me, not push me towards the right direction. Validation would be me asking for their approval, I did not need their approval because God had already sent me. This is why the second lady sent me back to God for answers, she did not know and she did not want to mislead me.
I think it is important that we hear God clearly, because going to the wrong people may destroy what God wants to do. This is crucial because whatever God has told you is in a seed form, so telling the wrong people could derail your assignment.
God is very practical, He knew that I needed people around me to support me and he sent my Aaron at different stages. Till now, I still have my Aaron who keeps me accountable. We cannot and should never strive to do it alone. The enemy would love to keep us isolated, because he knows we will be blinded in that spot. But we must resist this urge and whoever God places in our heart to talk to, we must swiftly obey. I also remember having phone conversations with some friends and I would start ministering to them, I honestly could not understand the words coming out of my mouth, but I chose to obey and let God use me as a vehicle. All these prepared and build my faith in starting this. We are God’s vehicle here on earth so we must be willing to accept the help and promptly reciprocate as well.
I pray that we humble ourselves to God's instructions concerning our purpose.
